In honor of Earth Day, P.S. 89 took part in protecting and conserving our environment. Students, families, and staff enjoyed rotating around the numerous stations at our event that highlighted the different ways we can reduce waste, and beautify our community. We planted flowers in the garden with used compost, redesigned our old clothing into new wearable items, and voted on an endangered animal we would like to sponsor using the money earned from recycling water bottles. Students also created their own “going green” t-shirts, pins, and hats that they can wear throughout the year as a reminder of their pledge to take care of the Earth every day.
